When Buddha Teas first reached out to me via Instagram - I was super excited. I had followed their feed for awhile and checked their website out a few times but had not tried their teas before. I told them to send me a favorite and something that was a little adventurous.
They sent me this Chaga Tea and the Calming Buddha Blend tea. As soon as I opened the box I was like "Chaga? What the heck is that?!" I read the box and realized it was a mushroom...uh oh. This is going to be weird. I sat down and did some reading on Chaga.
Here's what I learned:
To see what this mushroom looks like, check this article out. I was intrigued by my findings to I took it to work with me. Since then I have completely fallen in love with this tea. It's delicious. I was really afraid that it would have a dirty or woody flavor that might be off putting. Not at all.
This mushroom tea is steeped with hot water (200 degrees-ish) for 5-7 minutes. It has a smooth flavor similar to Ceylon tea minus the orange. It's not obtrusive and an easy sip. I wouldn't recommend adding sweetener - defeats the purpose of the healthy properties of the tea.
I have sipped Chaga Tea once a day for about a week. I often have a cup first thing in the morning instead instead of my black teas. It has been a nice change and I have really enjoyed it - plus I feel better because I feel like I am drinking something that is good for my body and helping my immune system.
I completely recommend this tea and I am so glad Buddha Teas got me out of my comfort zone with this delicious herbal tea!
