The Dong Ding Oolong from Tea Ave is a crisp tea perfect for a late afternoon pick me up. This is a perfect tea for anyone who is new to oolong teas and has a great flavor that leaves you feeling bright and refreshed.
Grown on Dong Ding Mountain Nantou County in central Taiwan, this is one of the best oolong teas in the world. I thoroughly enjoyed this oolong tea sample. Oolong teas can often be tricky, so be careful to watch your water temperature so that you do not burn your leaves.
Light, aromatic and a subtle fruit tinge makes this Dong Ding oolong on of my favorites.
I rate this oolong tea a 5 out of 5 stars.

Another delicious oolong tea from Tea Ave, the Osmanthus Oolong is has a light and creamy flavor with a flowery fragrance that is subtle but delightful. The osmanthus flower aroma is baked into the leaves and provides a delicate hint of flavor and scent. The subtle sweetness can be likened to an apricot or peach but is not overbearing and is not too sweet.
According to the Tea Ave website, the osmanthus flower is a symbol of romance in Taiwanese culture. Used in the traditional wedding ceremony, this tea is a perfect and unique gift for new brides and grooms.
I steeped my tea at just under boiling water and steeped for about a minute. Do not over steep, especially in your Gaiwan - it may become bitter. I have to say this tea was delicious though my favorite of the oolongs sent to me by Tea Ave is the Rose Oolong.
I rate this oolong tea a 4 out of 5 stars.

First off, let me just tell you about Tea Ave. I have never had such a WOW moment from a Tea Company like I did when opening my box from Tea Ave.
Heidi reached out to me last October about reviewing their teas, at the time they were expecting to launch their website within a few months. Unfortunately, due to delays and other weird hiccups, their launch was pushed out. They kept up with me though - liking my posts on Instagram and Twitter, sending updates on the tea.
Finally, the box arrived. Inside were two full bags of tea goodies. Beautifully packaged and a kind letter simply asking me to enjoy their product and to share with a friend. They also sent an additional $15 gift card to use on their online store. The whole bit has been a pretty awesome first impression of their company.
I was not the least surprised that their tea is just as top notch as their marketing and personal touch. The Rose Oolong by Tea Ave was the first sample I tried out from my kit. The tea itself is gorgeous before and after steeping. And the flavor? Mmm. So good.
This oolong tea is sweet and light with a floral finish from the delicate Taiwanese rose mixed with the oolong leaves. The tea came in a beautiful gold packet and on the back the below information is provided (this is the way for every one of their teas) which is both fascinating and helpful!
I rate this oolong tea a 5 out of 5 stars!
