So, I love the art and the concept of this tea. Great job, Aun-Juli on the art! But the flavor, man - I just can't do it. I tried this tea a few times just to make sure I hadn't burned leaves, or used enough or too much...but I think it's the coconut that throws it off for me. It's just not a good blend, unfortunately.
I have had the Spiced Apple Chai tea by Adagio Teas on it's own and really enjoyed it! I've never had the cinnamon or the coconut but I'm sure they all taste great on their own but in this melody, it's just off to me. The spice definitely brings out the fierce-ness of the Targaryen dragon. The tea was pretty and like I said, I love the tin and the art but I won't be drinking Viserion's Bane again.
Smooth, strong with a touch of spice - the Stark Winterbrew brings out all of the fabulous undertones of the Stark family. When you open the tin, the spice grabs your attention - making you think of cold Northern winters at the Stark's homestead in Winterfell and beautiful weirwood trees. But even better, the real charm to this tea comes in the smoothness of the ceylon sonata and the delicate caramel after taste.
This loose leaf is a beautiful blend of Adagio's Green Chai, Ceylon Sonata and Caramel black teas. With hints of cinnamon bark, ginger root, orange peels, cloves and many more natural spices. Steeped at 200 degrees for about 3 minutes, the Stark Winterbrew gives a rich aroma that instantly makes you feel warm inside and the bold, yet smooth flavors are top notch.
You can order a sample or a larger amount at Adagio Teas. With winter coming, you won't want to be without this warm brew to keep you alert and ready for the night walkers and if you get separated from your fellow direwolves, this tea will bring you back to their memory.
When you first open the can to this tea blend the smell of the green chai is like a punch in the face. It's powerful and fragrant and feels like dragon's breath. The tea is beautiful and delicate with hints of orange peel and visually mimics Daenerys' green dragon, Rhaegal.
I am a huge fan of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire Series (a.k.a. Game of Thrones) and have read all the books, fan fiction and anything else that you can get your hands on until he publishes his next book! I have to tell you how excited I was to see the fandom teas! I've got several tea reviews coming down the pipe line on these Game of Thrones tea blends and you can get your own for only $19!
Rhaegal's Fire is a delicious blend of Adagio's Green Chai, Vanilla Green and Gunpowder teas made by Aun-Juli Riddle. You can order it's own sample or you can get a small taste in the Game of Thrones Tea Sampler Set - which is what I did.
Rhaegal's Fire is crisp and fragrant with subtle tons of cinnamon for the heat and vanilla for the smooth aftertaste. The lighter of the tea sample set, it's great for an afternoon tea. Recommended to steep at 180 degrees for 2 minutes and is blended with green tea, gunpowder, cinnamon bark, ginger root, orange peels, cloves, cardamom, natural vanilla flavor and natural spice flavors.
